This week was good, so I will only tell you a few of the best parts.
One. Deborah went to the temple! That was awesome. We did baptisms for the dead and that probably wasn't the smartest thing for me to do because I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago.. Haha whoops. I didn't really think about it until the 4th time I was being dunked into the water.. We each were baptized 10 times for people who now have the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ.
TWO. Angelina Dunkley. She's nine years old and will be getting baptized next week! So that's sweet! We have been working with her for the past few weeks and she is so excited to get baptized.
Three. Sylvia. Sylvia is one of the first people I met when I came to Richmond Hill in February. We went over to her house once and she received a blessing from the Elders. She has a daughter that is a member in California. Since then she was diagnosed with cancer and has had some surgeries so we haven't been able to meet with her. But Saturday morning she texted us saying "today you can come over at 3:00pm". We thought it would be a lesson, but it turned out to be her grandson's 5th birthday party.. So, we didn't get to share our message with her, but we ate some Pilipino food.
Everything here is great. The weather is killing me. It's so humid that my hair never dries, but it's still super hot. I'm hoping to go back to Long Island, with a car for the next couple of transfers though. July in a car sounds a lot nicer than taking the metro. But, wherever God wants me eh?
This is President Calderwood's last week here in New York. So there are about to be a lot of changes coming to this mission, and that will be exciting. It's weird to be writing President Reynold's for the first time today.. I hope he likes me I think he might be shorter than me, but I'll let you know.
As for how I'm doing.. Great! I love New York so much. Today we are going to the Brooklyn Bridge with a couple of our recent converts, Ariel and Deborah, and a member, Onika. It should be a lot of fun! I'll take some pictures and send them later.
Last but not least, it may be a day late, but Happy Father's Day! Especially to Todd Ted Tenney, Triple T $, my #1 homie. I love you Dad! Thanks for being so great. I hope you had a good Father's Day and ate good.
I love my dad, and I love my Heavenly Father. I'm having a good time serving him, and the people here in NYC.
Love, Sister Samantha Tenney ️
